Shark Week is Coming + 4th of July Closure Reminder

Dear Stepping Stones Families,

Next week, we're diving deep into the ocean for one of our favorite summer themes… Shark Week!

Our little learners will explore all things fierce, fishy, and fun—with underwater adventures, ocean-themed sensory play, and circle time chats about creatures of the deep! This theme also ties into our Social & Emotional Development focus, as we talk about facing fears, helping friends, and learning through curiosity and imagination.

Shark Week Activities

Get ready for a jawsome week filled with exciting, age-appropriate activities for all our age groups!

For our Infants: Our littlest learners will engage their senses with ocean-themed discovery bottles and soft sensory bins filled with blue fabrics and crinkly "water" sounds. We'll introduce them to a variety of sea creatures through soft plush toys and board books with vibrant underwater imagery.

For our Toddlers: We'll be bringing the ocean to our water tables! Toddlers can splash and play with various sea life figurines, scooping and pouring "ocean water." We'll also have fun exploring large, colorful images of different sharks and ocean animals, encouraging them to point and identify what they see.

For our Preschoolers: Our preschoolers will become junior marine biologists! They'll get to examine realistic shark figurines and real images of sharks and other ocean creatures, discussing their unique features and habitats. We'll also incorporate creative art projects like making shark tooth necklaces and designing their own "underwater worlds" through collages and drawings.

Important Reminder: Stepping Stones will be CLOSED on Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th for the Independence Day holiday. We'll be back at it (no fins required) on Monday, July 8th!
